About Lorie Wendt
Lorie has been a functional and integrative nurse practitioner since 2010.

Lorie Wendt is an experienced Integrative and Functional Medicine Specialist. Her many years of experience in functional medicine may help you find answers to the underlying causes of your illness and also help you discover the nutritional and biochemical imbalances that may be preventing you from healing. This approach is personalized medicine, which is focused on the whole person, treats the root causes of disease and not just current symptoms.
Lorie searches for underlying triggers that are contributing to your illness through advanced and cutting-edge lab testing. Your treatment is tailored to your specific needs as an individual. Patients are provided with various options for treatment. There are many tools that may be used in helping you get well: diet, supplements, medications, lifestyle changes, and more. Lorie will work with you to help your body restore balance, maximize wellness, create hope, health, and healing, so you may have long term improvement.
Lorie moved to the Rockford area in 2010 joining Gary Oberg, MD. Then, she worked in retail and private clinics, and Integrative and Functional Medicine Clinics. In June 2021, Lorie received her Full Practice Authority License from the State of Illinois.
Lorie is certified in Adult and Family Medicine by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She went to nursing school in New York City at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. After many years working in intensive care units, as a staff educator, and as a clinical supervisor in hospitals, she attended Lewis University’s Nurse Practitioner Program and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. Lorie is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Lorie is always increasing her knowledge by participating in conferences and seminars, following new clinical research studies, knowing/understanding alternative treatment modalities that are available to patients, and more. She recognizes that everyone’s journey is their own and provides compassion to each patient while making sure their voice is heard and that they feel understood and supported in her office.
